Patrick was born in Windsor, ON. He is a lawyer and songwriter who now lives in Oakville, ON.

Career

Started writing with Gordie Johnson in the 1980s and has also written with Colin MacDonald of The Trews, Meredith Shaw , Tim Chaisson, and Shane Chisholm

Patrick has performed at the Toronto Centre for the Arts as part of the Bare Bones and Up Front Series.

    Although most frequently associated with co-writing with the likes of Gordie Johnson and Big Sugar, The Trews, and Tim Chaisson, Patrick released his debut solo album in 2008. It garnered the attention of music industry icon Ron Harwood, who placed it in top 5 independent releases of the year.

    Days of Rain

    Released in June 2014. The release show was held at Musideum in Toronto. The album differs from the first album in that it has more instrumentation (piano and string) than the first release

  • The title track "King of the Road" was co-written with Meredith Shaw and Gordie Johnson. The song originally appeared in a different incarnation on Meredith Shaw's EP "Place Called Happy".
  • The lyric video for "Wrestling with the Devil" was featured by Snob's Music as a Friday Find and as a Mute Music Moment of the Day
  • Re-released January 2015 under Northwood Records' label
  • Hit A Month

    In 2015, Patrick Ballantyne started the sardonically titled "hitamonth.com" project, aiming to release a single every month for the year.
