Parashkol is a census town spread over parts of Pandabeswar and Andal CD Blocks in Durgapur subdivision of Bardhaman district in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Geography
The Asansol-Durgapur region is composed of undulating latterite soil. This area lies between two mighty rivers – the Damodar and the Ajay. They flow almost parallel to each other in the region – the average distance between the two rivers is around 30 km. For ages the area was heavily forested and infested with plunderers and marauders. The discovery of coal led to industrialisation of the area and most of the forests have been cleared.
Demographics
As per 2011 Census of India the portion of Parashkol in Pandabeswar CD Block had a total population of 10,367, of which 5,483 (53%) were males and 4,884 (47%) were females. Population below 6 years was 1,223. The total number of literates in this portion of Parashkol was 6,470 (70.76% of the population over 6 years). The protion of Parashkol in Andal CD Block had a total population of 845, of which 480 (57%) were males and 365 (43%) were females. Population below 6 years was 80. The total number of literates in this portion of Parashkol was 625 (81.70% of the population over 6 years),

It is in the heart of the coal mining zone.
