History

Far from the madding crowd’s ignoble strife on the outskirts of the village in a picturesque landscape here emerged an institution at the bank of Chandya. The idea of flashing light of knowledge on the mind of illiterate rustics dawned into brain of some harbingers of education of the area. It was the first day of February, 1929, the middle English School come into being. The fire of the national Quit India Movement through every nook and corner of the country was still allege. On the 2 January 1942 the M.E.School was upgraded to a high English School. A resident of Paramanandapur late Iswar Chandra Jana donated certain amount of money for the Reserve Fund of this School. To commemorate his father the School was named after him as Paramanandapur Jagannath Institution. Late Abinash Chandra Chakraborty was entrusted with the duty of the first Headmaster.

About The school

Though trotting at a snail’s pace at the initial stage, now the institution has been galloping to quench the thirst of knowledge of pupils from home and abroad. Crossing many hurdles and in in-congenial situations the School, of late has reached district of Midnapur. Numberless students enlightened through its diversified courses of study like Primary, Madhyamik, Higher Secondary (Science, Humanities, and commerce), Vocational and Computer etc. Have been established in their wake of like. The properly qualified and Competent teaching staff in every subject has made this herculean task possible. In true perspective they have become Friend, Philosopher and guide to the students.

Activities

Our boys have been garlanded with success in various competitive fields like talent search test, Merit Scholarship, and so many levels of Science and Geography subjects. Our School has been playing a great role and leaving no stone unturned to create a student friendly environment like admission, health guidance, Mid-Day Meal system and sports and cultural issues. Every Year on the occasion of the Saraswati Puja festival the wall Magazine Patraput comes to light. The annual School Magazine ( the 5th issue ) Srijan has been published. Student eligibility and interest have been tasted through many cultural events like recitation, eloquence, debate, quiz, drawing, singing, dramatization etc. The important memorable day are observed with pomp and grandeur. In block, district and state levels our boys occasionally display their outstanding performance each and every Year. In terms of games and sports either in individual or in group events we can boost of our student in all fields of competitions. In H.S. level the two N.S.S. units with their so many socialistic activities have drawn the notice of people of the sociality. Blood donation camps and tree- planting projects every year, we try to organize. Job-based education students can attain through our vocational stream. In above VIII class level Telephone and Mobile repairment, two –three wheeler mechanism, health- worker- course; while in H.S. level agronomy, engineering and technology, the students are being trained. We can take pride in our well furnished library supplying the boys with various types of text books along with books of references. Students regularly facilitate them with a well expended reading room furnished with magazines as well as daily news papers and books of juvenile interest. Regarding academic side we would like to confess, in the district our School been enlisted among toppers scoring good results continuously. Students in vacations very often are overwhelmed with joy to trot over the unknown land escorted by the experienced teachers of rambling disposition. A well built hostel is crowded with some four hundred of students properly guided by their subject-wise house-teachers and strictly disciplinarians hostel supers. Knowledge is enshrined here in some spectacular edifices. We are proud of our well extended flower and vegetable gardens augmenting beauty of our environment, natured by our agriculture Dept.

Facilities and Campus

The school is situated slightly away from town with a big campus. The school has its own hostel for boys with a seating capacity of 600 only.There is a in campus canteen offering snacks and foods. There is also a big auditorium has seating capacity of 2000 named Aikatan. The school has a well-developed library with about 10000 books named Nazrul Pathagar. There are laboratories with minimum adequate facilities for the science subjects.
