Fundraisers
There are many fundraisers through the year to support many important organizations. Some examples are: The annual Mini fair (just before the Metcalfe Fair, just across the road) raises money for the United Way. The Mini Fair was founded in 2006 by Student Council Co-Presidents Colleen Magee and Jenna James to complement the 150th Anniversary of the Metcalfe Fair as well as to fundraise for a good cause. The annual Band-a-Thon raises money for different organizations every year. In 2005 they raised money for the Red Cross organization, and in 2006 raised money for the Cancer Foundation. Leadership Class has helped plan and run many successful events, Panther Prowl, which raises money for CHEO, this past year (2007) raised $3,000. The school holds a Relay for Life event annually and overall they have raised $100,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society in the few years they have done it.
