Orthetrum glaucum female 24nov2014
Orthetrum glaucum is an Asian dragonfly species, common across much of tropical and subtropical Asia, and capable of thriving in disturbed habitats. It breeds in ponds, drains, ditches and other open lentic habitats. They perch close to ground or at medium height; males have favorite perches and small territories and are readily seen while females are reclusive. Commonly found in marshes associated with forest streams, plantations and canals. The common name for this species is blue marsh hawk.
