Orlando "Q" Rodriguez (born September 13, 1947) is an American rock and jazz percussionist based in New York City. He began his career as a teenager during the early 1960s, playing with Rene McLean, Dennis Davis, Louie Ramirez, Rod Rogers, Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, Jackie McLean in Slugs nightclub in New York. Salsa singer Ismael Miranda sung in his first bands with Rodriguez and piano player Mark Diamond. Throughout his career he has recorded on albums by or has played with Victor Paz, Jay and the Americans, Jerry Freidman, Jay Black and the Americans, Warren Benbow, Paul Griffin, Sam Wooding, Bill Saxton, James Brown, Barry Rogers, Elliott Randell, Walter Becker and Donald Fagan of Steely Dan, Sam and Dave, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, Kenny Vance, Ashford and Simpson, Max Roach, Paul Shaffer, Kathie Lee Gifford, Nancy Wilson, Gloria Lynn, Teddy Charles, Ben E. King, Ralfi Pagan, and Aaron Neville. He is also the featured percussionist on Wynton Marsalis' "Live at the House of Tribes"
