Oregon Culinary Institute (OCI) is a privately owned, for-profit, accredited trade school located in Portland, Oregon. It offers programs in culinary arts and baking & pastry, with a curriculum designed for the food-service industry. OCI's campus includes an open-to-the public restaurant staffed by students. History

Oregon Culinary Institute was founded by Eric Stromquist and Brian Wilke in 2006 as a division of Pioneer Pacific College.

As of 2016, Oregon Culinary Institute has around thirty employees and twenty faculty members. Since its founding, OCI has graduated more than 2000 students. The campus president is co-founder and Executive Chef Brian Wilke.

Campus

OCI's programs are taught in a 10,000 square foot (930 m2) campus located in the Goose Hollow neighborhood of Southwest Portland, Oregon that includes three kitchens, lecture classrooms and three computer labs.

    Restaurant

    As an extension of the culinary arts, baking and pastry, and restaurant management classrooms, OCI has an open-to-the-public restaurant able to accommodate up to 50 customers. Students prepare and serve all lunches and dinners. The restaurant is open Monday through Friday, offering a three-course lunch and a four-course dinner.

    Accreditation

    Oregon Culinary Institute is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools. This includes recognition from the U.S. Department of Education and the Oregon Office of Degree Authorization. Additionally, Oregon Culinary Institute is a corporate member of the Portland Culinary Alliance.
