Born in Ukraine, which at that time was the Soviet Union, to a Jewish family, Firer and his family became refugees in the United States in 1989.
He is a founder of Unified Payments, Unified Payments a provider of payment processing services in the United States, and currently serves as a Chief Executive Officer and member of the board of directors of Net Element (NASDAQ: NETE). In addition, Firer serves as a Managing Member, member of the investment committee and a chairman of the board of directors of Star Capital.
Firer sits on the boards of Net Element, (April 2013 – present), E2Exchange (December 2016 – present), RealConnex board member (December 2014 – present) and InList board member (November 2014 – present).
