The Northern Theater Command is one of the five war zones of People's Liberation Army. It was founded on February 1, 2016, its predecessor is the Shenyang Military Region.
Its jurisdiction includes Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Shandong, and Inner Mongolia. Its commander is Gen. Song Puxuan and political commissar is Gen.Chu Yimin.
