In 2011, NewBlue was chosen from 176 applicants to join the EvoNexus incubator. in San Diego. The company graduated from EvoNexus in 2013 and moved into new headquarters in San Diego’s Hillcrest neighborhood. NewBlue was chosen to be one of San Diego’s Cool Companies by the San Diego Venture Group in 2013.

Balance color from scene to scene by altering saturation, brightness and film gamma. Vibop and VPX
In 2011 and 2012, NewBlue released Vibop 1.0 and Vibop 2.0 respectively for Apple iPhone. Vibop allowed users to quickly edit videos, add effects and share them with friends. While the app received consistent critical acclaim and NewBlue was included as one of the “hottest new apps out of South by Southwest” according to Cnet, the company chose to withdraw it from the market in 2013 to focus on its underlying technology, NewBlue VPX (video production engine) technology. VPX provides cloud-based video compositing, effects and titling technology to video streaming applications through a business-to-business licensing model.
