As a director, she began her directing career at the age of 11 where she was awarded the title 'The youngest female director in the world for a feature film' from Museum Rekor Dunia MURI (World Record Museum) and Royal World Records. She has directed four feature films such as Mama, I Have to Go in 2011, Tears of Ghost in 2015, Angel in 2017, and Dream in Post Production. She also has directed 8 short films and music films including the award winning Earth. Natasha has received awards for her directing career such as Best Director for her movie (Tears Of Ghost-2015), Emerging Filmmaker Award, Best Under 18 Filmmaker. In April 2016, Natasha received the title Best First-Time Director from American Movie Awards. In 1982 this festival gave an award to Steven Spielberg. With this award, Natasha broke the record as The First Asian Woman to receive that title. Meryl Streep and other Hollywood actors have received awards from that prestigious festival. Her film Tears Of Ghost was launched together with Academy-Award winner’s film Philip Seymour Hoffman in Asia Pacific Filmmaker Festival. In late 2016, Natasha gets 5 Nominations for her film Tears Of Ghost one of the prestigious film festival, London International Film Festival. Natasha, once again being the only female director and youngest director on the list of Best Director nomination. In February 2017, the music film “Earth" won the Gold Medal Best Soundtrack by one of the film festivals in the United States. In this month, Natasha received Sir Edmund Hillary Awards for her directing in Tears of Ghost.

As an actress, she is known for her leading roles in feature films L4 Lupus-2010, Dream Obama-2011, Let's Play, Ghost-2013, I'm Star-2013, Tears Of Ghost-2015 and From Seoul To Jakarta-2016. Natasha has won several awards in her acting career such as Award of Excellence in Let's Play Ghost, Dream Obama, I'M Star. Gold Reel Award for her role in Let's Play, Ghost and Platinum Award for her role in L4 Lupus also Gold Award for her role in Dream Obama, and another Gold Award for her role in I'm Star. She was also nominated for Best Lead Actress from St. Tropez International Film Festival, Madrid International Film Festival and Italy International Film Festival for her role in From Seoul To Jakarta. She also received awards for her role in (Tears Of Ghost) such as Best Actress in A Leading Role from International Independent Film Awards, Best Actress from Mountain Film Festival and Best Actress from Yosemite International Film Festival. Natasha is holding the title; of Best Actress Under 18 from Global Independent Film Awards. Until now, she has won more than 40 awards in her acting career.

Singer

As a singer, Natasha has received more than 45 awards for her song and music videos. She started recording her song since 2014 where she was given the opportunity to sing the soundtracks for her role in (From Seoul To Jakarta). Up to now, she has recorded more than 50 songs in dual language. She has received 2 awards for her song (Salute to Jokowi) and (One Love For All) from Global Music Award and won the 'Most Favorite Female Singer' and 'The Overall Most Favorite’ with almost 40.000 votes from around the world. She also received a nomination from Utah Music Award and won awards for her songs from Prestige Music Award, Miami Independent Film Festival, AWARENESS Film Festival, Los Angeles CineFest and TOFF Festival. On International Day of Peace 2015, Natasha released her first album with the title One Love. According to Natasha, she will dedicate all the money from the album for peace and humanity. Her album was launched by a well known Hollywood actress and producer, Alice Krige (Star Trek). On International Day for Tolerance, Natasha launched her second album called “Cinta Untuk Semua.” The album was launched by the President Director of Radio Republic of Indonesia; Dra. Rosarita Niken Widiastuti, M.Si. Natasha also released a Music Video Album called "Because I'm a Woman" to inspire all the women in the world to fight for their rights on gender equality. This album was launched on International Woman’s Day 2016 by the current Minister of Environment and Forestry of Indonesia; Siti Nurbaya Bakar, Social Minister; Khofifah Indar Prawansa.

Editor

As an editor, She has edited movies like (Tears Of Ghost), (Angel), (Dream), (Digilir Ala Genderuwo), (School Fighter) and most of her music videos. Natasha has received awards as Best Editor for her movies and music videos. Recently, she just received Gold Award as Best Editor for her movie (Tears Of Ghost) from International Independent Film Awards.

Producer

As a producer, Natasha received Best Film in many festivals around the globe. Including the overall winner Grand Jury Prize from Amsterdam International Film Festival. She has produced 14 films till date.

Songwriter

As a songwriter, Natasha has written 20 songs in dual language. One of her inspiration while writing songs is through her turmoil like what happened with her song “Smile” that was written by her in 10 minutes while she was having turmoil about giving the world the best she could give before returning to God when her time is up.

Photography

Natasha started focusing herself on photography when she read an article about how photography can change people life. She also decided to start learning about photography after she realised that to become a good director she has to learned about photography as film and photography have many things in common. So, she started to learn photography under the influence of her father, Damien Dematra. Natasha has opened her first photo exhibition in January 2016 in the Auditorium of Radio Republic of Indonesia. The exhibition is about Indonesian’s beauty. The exhibition called #SAVEINDONESIA. She said she would love to dedicate all the money that comes from the selling of her photos for social issues. In March, Natasha finally received her first photo award from Los Angeles Cinefest and won the title Best Photo in that competition.

Humanitarian work

Natasha is now the Ambassador for peace, Ambassador for human rights, Ambassador for tolerance, Ambassador for women, Ambassador for environment. To celebrate the World Environment Day, Natasha launched a music video called "Song For Nature." This music video is initiated to bring awareness to the world about how important it is to protect the world we live in. This followed by another music video called "Earth" that was launched in September 2016 during the celebration of United Nation World Peace Day. In September 2016, Natasha was appointed as International Director of World Environment Movement. A social movement to build awareness of the environment, which was launched by the Minister of Environment and Forests; Siti Nurbaya Bakar, Minister of Communications and Information Technology; Rudiantara and Minister of Public Works and Public Housing; Basuki Hadimuljono. In this month, Natasha was chosen by Hard Rock FM Bali as their Peace Speaker to talk about peace. In November 2016, Natasha Dematra as the Ambassador of environment is invited to come to Marrakesh, Morocco in the event the United Nations Climate Change Conference. In this prestigious event, her music film "Earth“ screened for the first time internationally. As the Ambassador of human rights, on Martin Luther King day 2016, Natasha delivered a powerful speech about peace and humanity. The audiences were touched by the speech, and the speech received standing applause. In December 2016, Natasha as human rights ambassador was invited to speak about the dangers of drugs among young people in the 'Anti-Drugs’ seminar organized by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN). Natasha again became the youngest speaker at the event. In this month, Natasha launched the music film “Smile" which is expected to build awareness about tolerance. “Smile” has become viral in the social media with more than 100.000 views in less than 6 weeks. As the Ambassador of tolerance, on International Day for Tolerance initiated by United Nations. Natasha delivered a speech to call out to the human tragedy of Rohingya. This speech took the attention of one of the former US Alternative Representative to the United Nations, stating that the speech had touched her heart, and what Natasha said is a thing that needs to be echoed to the international community, especially Western countries. In February 2015, Natasha Dematra received a Royal Princess title from Surakarta Kingdom for her tremendous achievement in such a young age. In late 2015, Natasha received another Royal title from Pakualaman Kingdom. In June 2016, Natasha received "White Lion" award from the Kingdom of Tallo. At the end 2016, Natasha became a Member of The Most Esteemed Royal Family of Puri Agung Negara Djembrana, Bali for her contribution in culture, tolerance, and humanity. In early 2017, Natasha received the Most Outstanding Personalities of 2017 from Puri Agung Negara Djembrana, Bali for her contribution to promoting peace and love through her works. Natasha was given "Gender Equality" award by the Royal Palace Puri Agung Blahbatuh, Bali for her contibution fighting and promoting gender equality. Beside this, Natasha has also received many Humanitarian Award, Environmental Award, and Diversity & Inclusion Award for her humanitarian work from many international institutions.

Other activities

During her busy schedules, Natasha still keeps her love for traveling. Australia, Asia, Europe and America. During her America backpacked touring for 4 months she attended the second inauguration of President Barack Obama in Washington D.C.. Natasha has been invited to many conferences and festivals to share her experience and expertise. In which she became the main speaker at the International Film Festival Conference 2014 sponsored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. She speaks in front of thousands of young people and filmmakers around the world. Natasha became the youngest person to speak at the event. She was praised by one of the filmmakers from Hollywood who said that what she was saying at the event worth people to paid for. She has taught filmmaking at the University of Indonesia in front of students older than her age. Natasha has opened her seminar called “How To Be A Star.” The seminar was a hit with hundreds of people coming in from inside and outside the country asking her questions among the film industry. From 2016, Natasha has become the jury of film festivals around Asia and America.

Natasha is also very serious about her education by completing special courses in Humanitarian from Harvard University, Entrepreneurship from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Environment Studies from Curtin University, Counterterrorism from Leiden University, Diplomacy from the University of London, Literature from the University of Berkeley, Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh, Music and Song Writing from Berklee College of Music and much more.

On the Kartini’s Day, (Kartini is a prominent Indonesian national heroine who was a pioneer in the area of women’s rights.) Natasha is given the title of “Modern Kartini” by one of the leading magazines in Indonesia. On the 71st anniversary of Indonesian Independence Day, Natasha is selected as one of seven spirits of Indonesia by one of the leading national print newspaper, Wartakota. Uniquely, Natasha was the only woman to enter the list. At the Youth Pledge Day, CNN TV made a special coverage about her and called Natasha as most promising young Indonesian filmmaker in the world. The leading magazine Femina chose Natasha as one of the top 50 Women Newsmakers 2016 in the world along with Hillary Clinton, Melania Trump, Angelina Jolie and Emma Watson.
