Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation is a non-profit initiative created to support enterprising individuals and innovative organizations. It empowers Non profit organisation and social entrepreneurs to make a positive, lasting and sustainable impact on society. They are among the leading funding agencies in India. As a Charitable foundation, their focus areas include promoting excellence among individuals, improving the quality of life for socially and economically disadvantaged communities, and promoting and protecting Indian traditions.

Their efforts are to:

• Nurture meritorious students through the scholarship program.

• Support initiatives of mass learning and innovative education models.

• Support community health initiatives.

• Strengthen public health infrastructure and institutions.

Founder

The Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation (NSF) is a set up by an endowment from Mr. Narotam Sekhsaria, a visionary entrepreneur with a strong sense of social commitment. In 2002, he established the Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation to undertake activities in the areas of health, education and employment generation by designing its own programmes and also by partnering with other organizations to support their projects.

Postgraduate Scholarships

The Foundation awards interest free loan scholarships to Indian students with a consistently good academic record. The amount of scholarship, is up to a maximum of Rs. Fifteen Lacs, is decided as per the assessment of the Foundation. Scholarships are offered for postgraduate studies at prestigious institutions in India and abroad, in the fields of pure science, applied sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Law, Architecture and Management. Selected students will have the benefit of the Foundation’s mentoring program, where they will be guided and advised by mentors from the academia, industry and the professions.

The Foundation has a holistic approach to education wherein they believe that their responsibility towards the students does not end with selection, but continues through the studies and professional life. Hence, built into the Postgraduate scholarship is the Mentoring Programme.

Mentorship Programme

The Post Graduate scholarship is unique feature of the Scholarship Programme, as it has a Mentors programme built into it. The purpose is to be able to provide support for both educational development as well as professional development of the recipient. The Foundation endeavors to nurture the scholars with values and ethics to emerge as leaders and entrepreneurs in their respective fields.

The Foundation makes efforts to find suitable mentors for their scholars so that both the mentor and mentee have a fruitful and enriching relationship.

Undergraduate Scholarships in Engineering

The Scholarship Programme for undergraduate students in engineering are awarded to students from institutions offering undergraduate courses in engineering. As a part of this competitive programme, award of excellence and certificates of merit, Merit- Cum Means Scholarships are awarded to the students every year from 13 engineering colleges across Mumbai.

Undergraduate Scholarships in Medicine

The Scholarship Programme for undergraduate students in Medicine includes award of Excellence and Certificates of Merit, Merit- Cum Means Scholarships, Merit Scholarships for Books, Fellowship (medicine) and Postgraduate Scholarships to students every year from 9 medical colleges across Mumbai.
