Nachindi is a village in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is part of the Union Council of Jand Khanzada in Chakwal Tehsil. The population of Nachindi is about 4249. A large percentage of the population works for the Pakistan Army and other defence-related departments.

Geography

It is located at 32°57′0″N 73°9′0″E, and has an elevation of 450 metres (1479 feet).

Tribes

The tribes of Nachindi include:

  1. Rajput (mainly Chauhan) have been divided into three sub castes, but this division is only at the village level:
  2. Malik (Malak)
  3. Thakar(thaakar)
  4. Aadra (aa - dra)
  5. Keenyal.
  6. Kalar (also called Mughal Pathans).
  7. Qazi (also Called Mian-nay or Mian) – The Qazi tribe has almost 70 to 80 houses, with most working abroad.
  8. Two Types Of Qazi in nachindi village
  9. One of them are Stalia also called miana.
  10. Other are Mealia.

Beside these are many other castes.

Notable people

Brigadier Muhammad Akram helped to develop the infrastructure of the village, while he was serving in the army with General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq.
