Location

The temple is located in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh on National Highway 2 between Delhi and Agra. It is approximately 150 kilometres (93 mi) from New Delhi, the capital city of the Republic of India.

Guru

The temple was constructed as a remembrance of Baba Jai Gurudev's guru ji (pandit ghurelal sharma ji). Baba jaigurudeo preaches and runs a charitable organisation from the nearby ashram that manages the temple, festivals, a free school for poor children and a free medical dispensary for the needy. Jai Gurudev, died on May 18, 2012 at his ashram and there was a conflict between the groups to claim the temple's liability and a legal case had been filed, court ordered to seize all the financial transaction related to the trust.

Jai Gurudev dedicated the temple and the annual festival to the guru he followed in earlier life: Ghurelal Ji Maharaj, popularly known as 'Dada Guru', who came from Chirauli in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Jai Gurudev believes that mankind has five weaknesses: lust, anger, greed, attachment and egoism. He says that we are now humans again after millions of years as "lower" species. We should now get to know ourselves and our creator and return to our original home, free from pain and misery. He believes that the human body is made up of the five elements earth, fire, water, air and sky. He preaches vegetarianism and abstinence from alcohol.
