Murshidabad-Jiaganj is a community development block that forms an administrative division in Lalbag subdivision of Murshidabad district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Murshidabad and Jiaganj police stations serve this block. Headquarters of this block is at Murshidabad.

Jiaganj is located at 24°14′N 88°16′E

Murshidabad-Jiaganj CD Block is bounded by Bhagawangola I and Bhagawangola II CD Blocks in the north, Raninagar I CD Block in the east, Berhampore CD Block in the south and Nabagram CD Block in the west.

Area

Murshidabad-Jiaganj CD Block has an area of 208.62 km2.

Physical features

The Bhagirathi divides the district into two parts namely Bagri on the east and Rahr on the west. The Padma separates the district from Malda district, and Chapai Nawabganj and Rajshahi districts of Bangladesh.

As per 2001 census, Murshidabad-Jiaganj block has a total population of 199,261, out of which 103,421 were males and 96,200 were females.
