Mukthapuram is a small village located on the main road from Giddaluru to Komarolu. It is 11 km from Giddalur and 5 km from Komarolu. This region is near to the famous Nallamala forests. There is a plan to add a new veligonda canal in future near this village.

As of 2010 India census, Mukthapuram has a population of 771. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Mukthapuram has an average literacy rate of 50%.
