Morrow Point Reservoir is an artificial reservoir on the Gunnison River in southwestern Colorado operated by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. Located in the upper Black Canyon of the Gunnison, it is impounded by 468-foot-tall (143 m) tall Morrow Point Dam, and is within the National Park Service-operated Curecanti National Recreation Area. The reservoir is between the Blue Mesa Reservoir (upstream) and the Crystal Reservoir (downstream). Morrow Point Dam and reservoir are part of the Bureau of Reclamation's Wayne N. Aspinall Unit of the Colorado River Storage Project, which retains the waters of the Colorado River and its tributaries for agricultural and municipal use in the American Southwest. The dam's primary purpose is hydroelectric power generation. Morrow Point Reservoir extends upstream about 12 miles (19 km) to the foot of Blue Mesa Dam, lying between the steep walls of the Black Canyon.
