History

The village is a very ancient settlement mentioned in the old charters. One of the famous descendents of the village is Monoszlói Ladomér, archbishop of Esztergom in the 13. c. A. D. during king Ladislaus IV of Hungary. The king did not live according to the Christian norms and Ladomér archbishop panished [<—this should be either punished or banished — NOT panished. Most likely the king was temporarily excommunicated] the king. Archbishop of Esztergom was the second highest rank in Hungary, so that is the reason that a beautiful parochial church have been built in the village of Monoszló.

Sightseeing

The church of the village preserved many medieval details in its architecture. Especially the southern doorway is beautiful with the tree of life motif and two birds on its sides.
