Sheikh Mohammed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani (born 1881) (Arabic: محمد بن جاسم بن محمد آل ثاني‎ "Mohammed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani"), for short, Mohammed bin Jassim Al Thani, was the fourth ruler of Qatar from 1913 until 1914, when he abdicated in favor of his brother, Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani, since he was chosen as the heir apparent by his father, Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani. All in all, Sheikh Mohammed had a total of 18 siblings while he was still living, with him being the seventh of his father's sons.

Early Life and Governance

Sheikh Mohammed bin Jassim Al Thani was born in 1881, in Doha, the capital city and state of Qatar, by his father, Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, together with his 18 siblings, including the fifth emir of Qatar for whom he abdicated, Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani.

Throughout his adolescence, his father prepared him for his future responsibility of governing Qatar. His father then chose him at the right time, to become the prince of the city of Umm Salal Mohammed, the capital city of the municipality of Umm Salal, and Doha. He then became the emir of Qatar in 1913, but his rule was cut off one year later when he abdicated in favor of his brother, Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani.

Children

Sheikh Mohammed bin Jassim Al Thani's wife was Sheikha Aisha bint Ahmed, his first cousin. She was the mother of Sheikh Jassim, Sheikh Abdullah and Sheikh Ahmed, Sheikh Mohammed had a total of 18 children 12 sons and 6 daughters, although some sources state that Sheikh Mohammed's younger sons are born through his concubines therefore they are morganatic. Death

Although the exact date of his death is still unknown, Sheikh Mohammed Al Thani died in 1971.
