Mike Carter (October 16, 1953) is an American politician and a Republican member of the Tennessee House of Representatives representing District 29 since January 8, 2013. In 1997, he was appointed Judge of the General Sessions Court of Hamilton County, Tennessee.

Carter earned his BS from Middle Tennessee State University and his JD from University of Memphis.

  • 2012 When District 29 Democratic Representative JoAnne Favors retired and left the seat open, Carter was unopposed for both the August 2, 2012 Republican Primary, winning with 5,577 votes, and the November 6, 2012 General election, winning with 19,860 votes.
