The Michigan AuSable Valley Railroad is a 16-inch-gauge (410 mm), 1/4-scale ridable miniature railway, located in Fairview, Michigan. The railroad runs through the scenic Huron National Forest and the Comins Creek Valley.

History
The Schrader family in 1994 began construction for the Michigan AuSable Valley Railroad station and the 72-foot (22 m) engine house.In 1995, seven passenger cars that originally ran on the Pinconning and Blind River Railroad were being restored. From April 15 to December 2, 1996, the Michigan AuSable Valley Railroad constructed and completed two wooden trestles and a 115-foot (35 m) wooden tunnel. The longest trestle spans over 220 feet (67 m).
Locomotives
The Custom Locomotive Works in Chicago constructed a diesel locomotive and a slug unit for the Michigan AuSable Valley Railroad. The front locomotive contains the engine while the slug unit balances the weight.
The Hudson Steam Locomotive is a grand oil-fired steam engine that was completed in 1961 and originally ran on the Pinconning and Blind River Railroad. The Hudson Steam locomotive runs on selected Sundays and Holidays.
Schedule
The Summer Schedule is Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays only from 10 a.m. to 5 a.m. The Fall Color tour for 2015 ran on October 3–4 and October 10–11. Fares are $6.00 and free for kids under the age of two.
