Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal (born 20 April 1971) is a Pakistani politician and businessman. He was Minister of Tourism for the Punjab from 2003-2008 and has represented an area of Lahore in the Provincial Assembly of The Punjab since May 2013.

Early life and education

Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal was born, brought up and went to school in Lahore. He completed his Master of Business Administration degree at Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad.
Political career

He started his political career at Union Council level, being elected Nazim of Union Council 106 (UC-106) in 2001 as an independent candidate, a position he held until 2002. Later in 2002 he was elected as a Member of the Provincial Assembly of The Punjab for constituency PP-148 Lahore-XII. He joined the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) party and became the Minister of Tourism for the Punjab in January 2003.

During his first term he addressed issues in his constituency including water and sanitation, road building and renovation of parks.

Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal lost his seat in the 2008 general election but maintained a political office in his constituency in New Mozang, Lahore.

In the 2013 general election he stood for election in the PP-148 constituency, representing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party. He won the seat with 54,893 votes, over 5,000 more than the runner-up,a candidate of the Pakistan Muslim League (N).
Personal life
Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal is married and lives in the Samanabad area of Lahore. He is Chief Executive Officer of Docé Bakery & Sweets Pakistan and an executive of the television channel Dunya News.
