The Melanesian Mission is an Anglican missionary agency supporting the work of local Anglican churches in Melanesia. It was established to purchase the ship Southern Cross.

History

Missionaries included:

  • Percy Temple Williams (19 March 1866 - 12 October 1933) who was active in the mission from 1895 - 1899 in the Melanesian Mission in Queensland, Australian; and from 100 - 1903 in the Guadalcanal diocese of Melanesia.

    • Current activities

    Today it continues to provide financial and staffing support for the Anglican Church of Melanesia, an independent province of the Anglican Communion. Its headquarters are in Feniton, Devon.
