In 2013 Blythe was loaned out to Super League side Bradford Bulls for the full season. Blythe played in the pre-season friendlies against Dewsbury Rams and Leeds Rhinos. He scored against Dewsbury Rams (1 try).

He featured in six consecutive games from Round 1 (Wakefield Trinity Wildcats) to Round 6 (Widnes Vikings). He was injured for Round 7-13 and Round 4 of the Challenge Cup. He returned and featured in Round 14 (Leeds Rhinos) to Round 21 (Wigan Warriors) and also in the Challenge Cup against London Broncos. He missed Round 22-24 due to injury. Matty featured in Round 25 (Castleford Tigers). Blythe scored against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats (1 try), Hull F.C. Blythe did not feature in any of the pre-season friendlies.

Blythe featured in Round 17 (Dewsbury Rams) to Round 23 (Halifax). Blythe played in Qualifier 1 (Sheffield Eagles) to Qualifier 4 (Widnes Vikings) then in Qualifier 7 (Halifax). Matty played in the £1 Million Game (Wakefield Trinity Wildcats). Matty played in Round 13 (Swinton Lions) to Round 15 (Leigh Centurions) then in Round 19 (Halifax) to Round 21 (Whitehaven). He played in Round 23 (Featherstone Rovers). Matty featured in the Championship Shield Game 1 (Whitehaven) to Game 2 (Halifax). Blythe played in the Challenge Cup in the 4th Round (Dewsbury Rams). He scored against Swinton Lions (1 try), Dewsbury Rams (2 tries), London Broncos (1 try) and Whitehaven (1 try).

At the end of the season Blythe signed a 1 Year Deal with ex club Warrington Wolves.
