Bio

From the "About Me" page on Skutnik's website:

"I'm an independent game developer and graphic novelist.

Telling stories – that's the thing I want to do in my life. Whether through comics or games – both mediums work fine for me. I've got lots of stories in my head, and I'll keep serving them to whoever wants to listen in whichever form."

Skutnik said in a tweet on September 19, 2015 that he would put a game on Steam in 2016. He said on October 12 that he wouldn't want to put a "ten-year old flash game" on Steam, and that he wanted to start with something new. He said on November 6, 2015 that it was a possibility that he would put Submachine on Steam in the distant future.

After he released Submachine 10, he revealed his tentative plans for 2016. He said in a Facebook comment on January 5, 2016 that if he released a game on Steam, it would be in 2017.

On January 10, 2017, Skutnik revealed his plans for 2017 on his website. He said that he would probably start working on the Steam game in 2017, calling it "The Big Game." He said that it would probably take one to two years to complete, so the game may be released in 2018 or 2019.

For a brief period of time at the beginning of 2016, Skutnik deleted the website of PastelGames, redirecting the URL pastelgames.com to his website's game page (mateuszskutnik.com/games). His reason for this was because no games will ever be made there again, since no one works at PastelGames anymore. However, after much protest and outcry from fans, he brought the website back. He has since turned it back to a redirect to his website's game page. It is unknown if the PastelGames website still exists.

  • Livestreams

Skutnik currently livestreams on his YouTube channel every Sunday at 4 PM EST, drawing games and comics. He uploads the VODs of his streams onto his channel immediately after each stream.

    Livestreams 28-39: Moving to Twitch

From September 26, 2016 to December 13, 2016, Skutnik livestreamed on Twitch instead of YouTube due to copyright strikes his channel had received. He still uploaded the VODs of his Twitch streams to YouTube.

    Livestreams 40-50: Return to YouTube

At this point, Skutnik returned to livestreaming on his YouTube channel.

    Ink Companion Season 1

At this point, Skutnik began livestreaming multiple times a day, naming each stream "Ink Companion."

The duplication of the numerical designation for Ink Companion 29 appears to be an error on Skutnik's part. The two identically named VODs are separate streams.

At this point, Skutnik stopped numbering the streams based on the original numbering system, and instead labeled them as sXXeXX (i.e., s01e31 for the 31st "Ink Companion" stream in season 1)

Note: At some point after this, Skutnik changed the titles of the VODs for Ink Companion parts 1-30 to his new sXXeXX numbering system. The result of this was the separation of the two series Ink Companion and Live Streams. Before this point (Ink Compaion 31), the Ink Companion streams still had a secondary numerical designation continuing from Live Stream 50. When Skutnik removed this from the VOD titles, he separated his Live Streams series from his Ink Companion series. Because of this change, the chart directly above now reflects Skutnik's wishes in separating Ink Companion streams from Live Streams, and the new sXXeXX system has replaced the original numbering system.

    Livestreams 51-52

Skutnik would periodically return to his Live Streams series in between Ink Companion streams.

    Ink Minute

In between Ink Companion streams, Skutnik sometimes would upload a short video titled "Ink Minute." These videos have all been exactly one minute long.

    Livestreams 53-58

After the completion of Ink Companion season 1 on May 29, 2017, Skutnik returned to regularly streaming installments of his Live Streams series.

    Ink Companion Season 2

For Season 2 of Ink Companion, Skutnik returned to streaming on Twitch and uploading the VODs to YouTube.
