Mark Pierre Gunn (born July 24, 1968) is a former professional American football player who played defensive tackle in the National Football League. He played for the New York Jets (1991–1994, 1996), the New Orleans Saints (1994) and Philadelphia Eagles (1995–1996)

Early life

Mark Gunn was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He is the cousin of screenwriter, James Gunn, actor and political writer, Matt Gunn, former Senior Vice President with Artisan Entertainment, actor, Sean Gunn, Brian Gunn, Patrick Gunn, and Beth Gunn. His uncle, James F. Gunn, is a partner and corporate attorney with the law firm Thompson Coburn in St. Louis. Gunn's surname is derived from the Irish name MacGilGunn, meaning, "sons to the servants of the god of the dead." Therefore, Gunn means, "God of the Dead."

Career

He is a writer and producer, known for Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012), Bring It on Again (2004) and 2gether (2000).

Gunn was elected to the WGA Board of Directors in 2006.
