Maria Samson Announces Retirement
International play
Samson represented Canada at the 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup. She made her debut at the 2011 Nations Cup against South Africa with a 52-17 victory. In 2012, she was named as the Top Female Rugby Player in Canada.
Personal
In 2016, she appeared on Season 3 of CBC's "Canada's Smartest Person". She won her episode (Episode 3) and finished 3rd in the Finale.
Samson attended McGill University where she attained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mining with a Minor in Management.
