The debate to eliminate the Electoral College


Marcus Dale Pohlmann (born 1950) is an American political scientist, author, and professor. His research focuses primarily on American government and politics, specifically, African-American politics, urban politics, and political economy. He is a long-time professor of political science at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee.

Pohlmann is also an accomplished mock trial coach. He is one of only nine coaches to be inducted into the American Mock Trial Association's Coaches Hall of Fame. He has won four National Championships as well as four national runner-up finishes. His teams currently hold several records, including the longest consecutive streak in qualifying for the National Championship (27 Years).
