Mahika Sharma is an Indian actress and model. After winning the beauty pageant, She got popular as Miss Teen Northeast. She was the first Indian contestant to be at top 10 among the pageant Miss Universal Peace and Humanity. She also appeared in many Bollywood Movies and Indian Television serials.

In addition to acting in films and performing for music albums, Sharma has an active media presence. Sharma was the other name in Bollywood for the remake of Indian blockbuster movie DDLJ. She is also an active social worker. Mahika has often been criticised in the media for her lack of interest in maintaining her appearance.

Early Life and Background

Mahika Sharma was born in Tinsukia to the family of Bhawari Devi and Nandlal Sharma' who shifted to Assam from Haryana. Her mother, Suman Sharma was from Kolkata, while her father Manjeet Sharma was from family of business of Ayurvedic Agencies. Manjeet Sharma died in 2015 after suffering Myocardial infarction. After him Mahika's mother took her care, which Mahika shared on mothers day with media by giving her quotes. Mahika' elder sister, is Fashion Designer who later got married to a business man of northeast region. Mahika studied at the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya school in Tinsukia. Apart from the same, She later joined Tinsukia English Academy for her high secondary education. However, she eventually dropped out of B.A LLB hons from NEF Law College at Guwahati to pursue a full-time career in entertainment Industry.

Philanthropy

Mahika Sharma has been actively involved in several philanthropic endeavours related to women and children. She is also helping in sex workers rehab programme. She is involved with NGO's that works in the field of children's education. She has also participated in a fashion show organised by the Cancer Patients Aid Association, to generate funds for the organisation. Mahika is also the international goodwill ambassador and patron of many charity organisation devoted to supporting Rape victims and poor children around the world, particularly in India. She is also working for the state to develop the state's culture and tradition.
