Madhukar Dhumal is an Indian Shehnai Player, Composer and freelance Musician. He is a disciple of Guni Gandharva Pandit Laxmanprasad Jaipurwale and Pandit Rajaram Sukhla. He received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2013. He is part of many other bands and has performed with various artists around the world. Majorly performed for Bollywood industry with all known Music directors.

Earlier life
Shri. Madhukar Tukaram Dhumal son of Late.Tukaram and Chandrabai Dhumal born in a small village of Maharashtra known as "Valai" in Satara district. Madhukar had 6 brothers and 2 sisters and all were blooded artist. His Ancestors were also indulge in music as well as new generation. Madhukar and his brothers were 4th generation who worshiped and praised music,his Mother's family was also from a Musical background. She was a classical Vocal Recital.
Handling a big family in small rural village was big deal in those days.whole family was poverty stuck en in-spite of having a good farm and house. Madhukar spend his childhood in very poor condition in which he could not learn more than 4 standard.his elder brother was well educated because he was first child of his parents.his young age went into cutting trees working in farm to get daily bread.
due to poverty and no employment in village Madhukar's uncle settled down in Bombay.Making good market and business his uncle called his elder brother Late. Shivaji Dhumal to Mumbai.he came to Mumbai in hope that he will earn for his family this was a turning point for his other brothers too.all were migrated to Mumbai leaving small Madhukar alone behind.He had a dream,Passion,hope that he will go to Mumbai to do something.One day in the year 1973 his elder brother Late.Shambhaji Dhumal who was a talented Shehnai player went to his native place for family visit.While returning to Mumbai Sambhaji took Madhukar with him.After returning with his elder Brother Madhukar's dad came to Mumbai and took his small child along with him to help him with his farms and animals. each day was a judgement day for Madhukar. he Started Saving small penny and finally collected 16 rupees for bus fare to Mumbai.he was thrilled and excited he did not bothered about his parents left his house with two small animals forever he was back to Bombay in the year 1974.

Shri. Madhukar Dhumal is a promising and talented Shehnai player,who is the son & disciple of the eminent Shehnai player late Shri Tukaramji Dhumal. After the Initial period of learning and training from his father, Shri Madhukar attained proficiency in the Hindustani Classical Music, Ragdhari style of Jaipur Gharana as well as Banaras Gharana and its nuances under intensive and able teachings from the great maestro Guni Gandharava Pandit Laxmanprasad Jaipurwale and Pandit Rajaram Shukla, the gifted Guru, Composer and performer of great virtuosity.
Shri. Madhukar with arduous training and dedicated perseverance has mastered in both Khayal Gayaki and Tatkari and equally well under the tutelage of the great maestros of Hindustani Classical Music, cited above.
Shri Madhukar's renditions in many music concerts of repute throughout the country have received accolades and appreciatinons from the connossieurs to the lay music lovers, media and the press, unfailingly time and again.
Shri Madhukar is a graded artist (B-high) of All India Radio and his renditions are regularly broadcast by AIR and doordarshan. He has rendered Music for many Eminent music directors of the film, industry, T.V. serials etc. His performances are aired by channels like Sony Entertainment Television and others.
