MES College of Engineering, commonly known as MES Kuttipuram, established as an institution with minority status in 1994, is the first self-financing engineering college in the state of Kerala. The college is managed by the Muslim Educational Society, one of major educational organisations in India. It is considered as one of the top engineering institute in the state.

Contents

The college, located along the banks of the Bharathapuzha River near Kuttippuram town in the Malappuram district, is currently one of the largest engineering colleges in Kerala. It is ISO 9001:2000 certified and is affiliated to the University of Calicut. The college was selected under the scheme of TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme) by Govt of India in the year 2004.

History

The college was established along the banks of the Bharathapuzha River in the year 1994, with 4 Under Graduate courses viz Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Applied Electronics and Instrumentation and Mechanical Engineering with an intake of 60 each.

The college was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister, E K Nayanar in 1998. The institution got ISO 9000 certified by TUV, Asia in the year 2002.

Academics

It offers undergraduate programmes in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Civil Engineering, and Architecture; in addition to Master's level programmes in Computer Science & Engineering,Thermal Systems Engineering, Communication Engineering and Signal Processing, Business Administration and Computer Applications.
