M Swaraj is an Indian politician of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), and represents Thripunithura constituency in the Kerala Legislative Assembly.

Personal life
M Swaraj was born to late Smt. Sumangi Amma and Sri. Muralidharan Nair, on the fourth day of the festival of Onnam ,in 1979 at a village called Nettikulam in Nilambur Taluk, Malappuram District. Swaraj completed his BA in Economics from MarThoma College, Chungathara under the University of Calicut. He later pursued his degree in law from Kerala Law Academy Law College, Thiruvananthapuram . He married Saritha Menon in April, 2008. Swaraj loves travelling and has authored a couple of travelogues as well.
Political career
M Swaraj, the present State Committee Member of Communist Party of India( Marxist), entered politics through Students' Federation of India.He was elected as SFI State Secretary. Later he was part of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI).He was elected as the state Secretary of DYFI in 2011. He was elected to Kerala Legislative Assembly from Thripunithura assembly constituency in Kerala Legislative Assembly election, 2016 by defeating congress veteran and Excise Minister K. Babu by a margin of 4,467 votes. One of his comments on Stalin, which he posted on facebook, that he neither support Stalin nor oppose him, received sharp responses from the democrats of Kerala.
