Biography

He was born in Algiers, Algeria, in 1977 or 1978.
He completed his doctoral study on how "Sexual Minorities are at the Vanguard of Changes in the Islam of France", and published his social psychology doctoral thesis on "LGBT Muslims facing obscurantisms and homo-nationalisms" (2016).
Controversy

Ludovic-Mohamed Zahed calls for an Islam that is neither homophobic nor misogynistic. In France, he has openly taken the position in favor of same-sex marriage. Zahed is the founder of the group 'Homosexual Muslims of France' and, in November 2012, he set up a prayer room in Paris. It was described by the press as the first gay-friendly mosque in Europe. The reaction from the rest of the Muslim community in France has been mixed, the opening has been condemned by the Grand Mosque of Paris.
