Laymantown is a census-designated place (CDP) in Botetourt County, Virginia, United States. The population was 1,979 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Roanoke Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Laymantown is located at 37°21′37″N 79°50′56″W (37.360271, -79.848828).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.3 square miles (8.5 km2), all of it land.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 2,034 people, 762 households, and 653 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 618.1 people per square mile (238.7/km2). There were 794 housing units at an average density of 241.3/sq mi (93.2/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.95% White, 1.67% African American, 0.25% Native American, 0.59% Asian, 0.20% from other races, and 0.34% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.34% of the population.
There were 762 households out of which 32.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 77.0% were married couples living together, 6.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 14.3% were non-families. 13.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 2.91.
In the CDP, the population was spread out with 23.6% under the age of 18, 4.4% from 18 to 24, 24.9% from 25 to 44, 32.7% from 45 to 64, and 14.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 94.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.4 males.
