Kvernmo grew up in Tromso and Karasjok, Northern Norway. He has an older brother and a younger sister, and is the son of a doctor and psychiatrist.

He began his musical career while studying in South Carolina, USA to become a pilot. During his studies, he sent some songs to Richard Fortus of Guns N' Roses via his website. This formed the basis for their collaboration on the project "Saivu" that they performed at the Midnattsrocken in Lakselv (2010).

Saivu comes from Sami mythology and was the paradise of the Sami people after death. In Saivu deceased people survived in the same way as on Earth, only much happier.

Kvernmo also contributed lyrics to artists Ivvar and Mari Boine, and has also worked as a reporter for NRK Sapmi.

He has a Commercial pilot licence.
