Lake Shore High School is a high school located in the lakefront community of St. Clair Shores, Michigan. The school, a part of Lake Shore Public Schools, serves grades 9–12. The mascot for Lake Shore is the Shorian. Lake Shore High School offers training in CAD, dental careers, web design and video production along with college advance placement classes and dual enrollment. Lake Shore High School, along with all of the other district schools have been remodeled, equipped and technologically upgraded to serve students in an environment suited for the 21st century. Dr. Joe DiPonio is the current principal with John Hartley and Janelle Bross as the current assistant principals.

History
Lake Shore was originally a one-room school house that worked with grades first through eighth, located on Thirteen Mile Road and Jefferson Ave. in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan. Charlotte Hoffman attended here, and her father became an active board member who promoted a 2-room school house. Soon after that, it was changed by adding a large blue curtain to separate the 1st–4th and 5th–8th graders. At that time, students who wished to go to high school went to Mount Clemens High School.
The first graduating class had 3 students, in 1926.
Currently, LSHS has 2 floors, 4 flights of stairs, 1 elevator, an auditorium, a football field, a practice field, a main gym, a performance gym, a divided cafeteria, and a library (media center).
Lake Shore High School has had numerous renovations in the past, the latest coming in 2010. Lake Shore added a new student commons and a new Performance gym. The new gym was needed because of a Title IX legislation ruling that stated boys and girls seasons must be at the same time. According to Donald Kling, director of facilities and transportation at Lake Shore Public Schools, LSHS did not have the gym space available for all the practices. Because of scheduling conflicts, some students would be at practice as late as 10 p.m. This forced many districts such as Lake Shore to add performance gyms.
Funding for the new gym came from the extension of a 2008 bond. The extension generated $9.7 million, which was also used to make renovations to the other schools in the district. Due to this, Lake Shore High School was able to build a new, more secure entrance at the back of the school and a commons area in addition to the gym. The new entrance is a way of saying "Welcome to Lake Shore," Kling said. The new gym is just more than 17,000 square-feet and has seating for almost 2,000 people, as well as an indoor, rubberized track. While some high school basketball courts are 84 feet long, the court at Lake Shore is 94 feet long, the same size as an NBA-regulation court.
Sports
Sports were active for the boys when the main school building opened in the mid-20's. Girls' sports came to light in the early 70's. Lake Shore is best known, athletically, for the 1993 and 1994 Boys Basketball team that went 26–1 and 28–0, respectively, and winning the Class B State Championship in 1994. Most will say that the 1993 team was better all around, deeper and skilled team. To this day they are still the only Boys Basketball team located in Macomb County to ever win the State Championship.
Music
Lake Shore Marching Shorians are a flight III group. The school hosts three different band classes: Jazz Band, Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble. For concerts, graduation ceremony, and competition at MSBOA, Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble are combined into Wind Symphony. Pit Band is an elective ensemble who provide instrumental accompaniment to holiday, spring and musical choir performances. The choral program is one of the highest membership programs at Lake Shore, and includes the Woman's Chorale, Lake Shore Singers, Show Choir and Glee Club. The choirs also combine each spring to produce a musical; they performed their first musical in 1973.
