Economy
Kuttikole has an agriculture-based economy, and produces areca nut, coconut, cashew nut, and rubber. It has a tropical climate, with hot humid weather most of the year.
The village economy is becoming more dependent on jobs in construction and industry. The village has a staunch communist base politically; they have played a significant part in development of the village.

The village is known for a local drink called "Rak". Rak is made from fermented cashew nuts and locally available nuts. However, it is illegal.

Transportation
This village is connected to Karnataka state through Panathur. There is a 20 km road from Panathur to Sullia in Karnataka from where Bangalore and Mysore can be easily accessed. Locations in Kerala can be accessed by driving towards the western side. The nearest railway station is Kanhangad railway station on Mangalore-Palakkad line. There are airports at Mangalore and Calicut.
