He is born as eldest among two children to Mohan Divakaran and Radhalakshmi at Kainakary, Alapuzha. He has a young brother, Sanker . He had his primary education from Matha School Thumpoly, Alappuzha. He pursued degree in Arts from Sanatana Dharma College, Alappuzha.
He is married to Sikha. The couple have a son, Shiv and a daughter, Gouri studing in choice school. He currently resides at Kochi with family.
He is the relative of South Indian actress Shobana, Vineeth and grand son of actress Lalitha. Yesteryear actresses Padmini, Ragini, Ambika Sukumaran, Sukumari are his aunts.
