Krisana Lalai, original name Krisana Chaiyarat, is a Thai journalist and human rights worker in respect with equality of people with disabilities and unprivileged people. He is also the leader in the Friendly Design Ambassador Project in Thailand. This project sets up for publicize the details and awareness of "Friendly Design" (Universal Design or Inclusive Design) which are ideas to construct inherently accessible buildings and environments for everyone especially for senior citizen and people with disabilities. He hosts several famous television programs

He was born on 14 September 1968 in Saraburi province. He graduated with Bachelor of Education from Suan Dusit Rajabhat University. He also took mini-MBA at Thammasat University and High level Administrator in energy, Ministry of Energy. He has worked in this field since 1992. He is as known as “Journalist 11 prime ministers.” This is because he had special interviews with prime ministers and former prime ministers of Thailand.
On 21 March 1997, he had a car accident on a news reporting trip to Nakhon Ratchasima Province. This accident made him unable to walk anymore. Therefore, he has to live his life in his wheelchair for 19 years.

Friendly Design Ambassador (Thailand) Project
thumb This is a project which Mr.Krisana cooperates with Thai Health Promotion Foundation. It was awarded as one of the best ten Thailand volunteering projects in year 2013 and received the award from the Ex-Thai army chief, General Prayuth Chan-ocha who is the current Prime Minister of Thailand.
Change Burden to Power, Inclusive Society for All and The Kick Off Country’s Friendly Design Project
thumb With years of efforts to make the government sectors and private sectors realize the importance of Friendly Design, in year 2013, Ex-Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra set A historical event title “Change Burden to Power, Inclusive Society for All and The Kick Off Country’s Friendly Design Project” on 14 May at Santi Maitri Building, the Government House of Thailand.
The memorandum signing ceremony (MOU) between the 19 Ministries and two special agencies; the Office of Prime Minister and the National Police Agency was held to commit to support and provide accessible facilities for persons with disabilities and promote the Friendly Design around the country.
Friendly Design Trip Project
thumb Mr.Krisana cooperates with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to campaign accessible trips for all people including people with disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women, veterans, and toddlers.
Friendly Design Model City Project
thumb after a big efforts of Mr.Krisana's presenting and campaigning on Friendly Design Model City Project, the project has finally got a support from the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, led by Pol.Gen.Adul Sangsingkaew—the Minister, together with provincial governors from many provinces to develop their areas to be a friendly design model cities. They have become good examples for other provinces.
Friendly Design Transportation Project
thumb Mr.Krisana try to bring up together both government sectors and private sectors to work together on transportation development for Non-step Buses and Accessible Taxi Projects for all users, including the elderly, people with disabilities and pregnant women, etc.
Volunteer’s Party
thumb Volunteer’s Party is an annually event Mr.Krisana cooperates with Thai Health Promotion Foundation holding to present rewards to the outstanding volunteer workers in community and country development on Friendly Design issue from both government sectors and private sectors.

thumb He Cooperated with Thai Health Promotion Foundation to hold a seminar on “Thailand Opportunity: Friendly Design Hub of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Community”.There were executives from leading government and private organizations participating in the seminar, such as Dr. Tej Bunnag—Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj—Minister of Science and Technology, Ambassador Mikael Hemniti Winther, Mr. Akiie Ninomiya—APCD Executive Director.
Ratanakosin Friendly Design Square Project
thumb After campaigning on Ratanakosin Friendly Design Square Project, Bangkok Governor, M.R.Sukhumphan BORIP supported the idea by ordering deputy governor to hold a meeting and drive Ratanakosin Friendly Design Square Project—which aims to make the areas at 4 main intersections in bangkok which are Samyan intersection, patumwan intersection, Ratchaprasong intersection, Lumpini Park intersection accessible and safe for all users.
Fight for the disabled's right
thumb Being one of the leader of the group fighting for the right to access BTS safely and conveniently, the group finally won on appeal to the Supreme Administrative Court. The court ordered the BTS Sky train system to install elevators and other facilities to support accessibility of the disabled.
Discover New Seeds for Friendly Design Ambassador Project
thumb Teachers and youth are very important groups of the country's development. Mr.Krisana travel around Thailand to give lectures on Friendly Design Concept to university lecturers and students hoping that the Friendly Design concept will be always in their mind. The teachers will help spread it out to their students. And the youth will realize the importance of it whatever they do in the future.
Friendly Design Religious Places
thumb Cooperating with the Department of Religious Affairs to campaign and renovate the religion places to be accessible for everyone, especially the elderly and people with disabilities.
