Klaus Schütz (September 17, 1926 – November 29, 2012) was a German politician of the Social Democratic Party (SPD).

Biography
Schütz was born in Heidelberg. He was Mayor of West Berlin from 1967 to 1977, serving as President of the Bundesrat in 1967-1968. After his resignation he worked as German Ambassador to Israel until 1981 and Director General of the Deutsche Welle broadcaster from 1981 to 1987. He was also president of the Red Cross. Schütz married 1952 Adelheid (1924–2006), daughter of a parson. He died, aged 86, from pneumonia in Berlin.
