Kentucky Route 196 (KY 196) is a 17.0-mile-long (27.4 km) state highway in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The highway connects mostly rural areas of Wayne, Russell, and Pulaski counties with Nancy.

Route description

KY 196 begins at the entrance to the Lake Cumberland 4-H Center, which is located between bends of the Cumberland River at a point south-southeast of Jabez, within Wayne County and the Eastern Time Zone. It travels to the north-northwest and curves to the north-northeast. Then, it enters Russell County and the Central Time Zone. It curves back to the north-northwest and passes Hatfield Cemetery before it enters Jabez. There, it has an intersection with the eastern terminus of KY 3277 (Cave Springs Road) and heads to the northeast. It then enters Pulaski County and re-enters the Eastern Time Zone. In Faubush, it intersects the southern terminus of KY 3262 (Faubush Road). KY 196 heads to the east and crosses over Sputter Branch. In Burnetta, it intersects the northern terminus of KY 1664. The highway crosses over the White Oak and Little White Oak creeks before meeting its eastern terminus, an intersection with KY 80 in Nancy.
