Karamanoğlu Mehbetbey University (Turkish: Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey Üniversitesi) is a public university in Karaman.

History
Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University is one of new seventeen universities which were established in accordance with the law numbered 5662. However university’s history dates back Vocational School which was established as a part of Selcuk University by the verdiction of the council of higher education dated 08.03.1987. Ermenek Vocational School was established as a result of the meeting of The Council of Higher Education dated 21.03.1991 and Karaman Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was established in accordance with the law numbered 3837, published in official journal dated 11.07.1992 numbered 21281.
In the same year Health Services Vocational School with the protocol dated 10.09.1992 between The Council of Higher Education and Ministry of Health, Kazım Karabekir Vocational School as a result of the meeting of The Council of Higher Education dated 30.09.1994, Health School with the official journal dated 02.11.1996 numbered 22805 and School of Physical Education and Sports with the decree dated 18.11.1997 were established and operated under Selçuk University.
Faculty of Literature with the verdiction of The Council of The Ministers numbered 2006/10735 published in official journal dated 05.08.2006 numbered 26250 and Faculty of Kamil Özdağ Science with the verdiction numbered 2007/11548, published in official journal dated 20.01.2007 numbered 26409 were established but had not started education.
All these institutions, which operated under the name of Selçuk University, have become units of our university in accordance with the law numbered 2809 published in official journal 29 May 2007 numbered 26536.
Social Sciences Institute which continues its education and Sciences Institute which do not accept student yet were established in accordance with the same law under Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University Rectorate.
