Kadabaಕಡಬ is a town in Puttur taluk of Dakshina Kannada (DK) or Mangalore District of Karnataka, India. It is located 82 km towards East from District headquarters Mangalore, 31 km from Puttur and 272 km from State capital Bangalore. Kadaba Pin code is 574221. Kadaba is surrounded by Puttur Taluk towards West, Beltangadi Taluk towards North, Sullia, Sakaleshpur and Somvarpet Taluk towards East. Tourist and Pilgrimage places like Kukke Subramanya, Dharmasthala, Madikeri or Coorg are easily accessible from Kadaba. Kadaba can be reached either through road or rail, the nearest Railway Station is Kodimbala.

As per the locals, Kadaba was ruled by 'Kadamba' dynasty hence the name 'Kadaba'. However, there are no valid evidence proving the same. The main languages are Tulu (local language), Kannada, Malayalam, Beary language and Konkani. Kadaba has quite a few schools and colleges in and around though Professional colleges are yet to start in Kadaba. Govt. Primary & High Schools, St. Joachims institutions are the oldest schools of Kadaba. Bethany schools & other English medium schools are also popular in Kadaba.

In 2013, ruling BJP government under chief minister Jagadish Shettar had declared Kadaba as Taluk along with Moodbidri, Byndoor and Brahmavar of Mangalore districts. On March 15th 2017, Karnataka government under chief minister Siddaramaiah has re-declared Kadaba as Taluk again. Kadaba has special Tahasildar from 2005.

Pilgrim Centers nearby Kadaba: There are few pilgrim centers around Kadaba, which made its existence through regular visits by tourists every year. Kukke subrahmanya temple is a famous pilgrim center which is at a distance of 23 km from Kadaba. Sri. Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara temple is also nearby , at a distance of 37 km. Ichilampady St.George church is a Christian (Syrian orthodox) pilgrim center, which is at a distance of 10 km from kadaba.

Tourist Attractions Nearby Kadaba: 1. Kumaradhara Hill: This place is famous for trekking, where number of trekkers visits every year. The panoramic view of Western Ghat seals the heart of people who made an attempt to clinch the top of mountain. This hill is at a distance of 23 km from Kadaba. 2. Sakleshpura Ghat: It is worth visiting this place during monsoon and winter. During monsoon, you can feel lots of drizzles, fogs, mists and roaring sound from river (kempu hole) which makes visitors and riders more thrilling. This place is just 55 km from Kadaba. 3. Manjarabad Fort: This fort was built by Tippu Sultan in 1792, which is in the shape of star developed by French Architects. This place is 66 km from kadaba towards Sakleshpur. 4. Shishila Hanging bridge: It’s a mesmerizing feeling for one who visits this place. A small temple at the banks of a river, which attracts thousands of tourists and devotees every year. This river is a place for lakhs of fishes, which comes in a close contact with people, who feeds food and show fondness.

Commercial Crops: Arecanut, Rubber,Pepper, Coco, Coconut and Cashew plantations are the source of income for this region. Acres of Arecanut and Rubber plantations are the common view, which has boosted the economy and lifestyle of people. The Kumaradhara River is the main source of water for growing crops.
