On December 8, 2014, Entercom announces that it was purchasing Lincoln Financial Group's entire 15-station lineup (including KSON) in a $106.5 million deal, and would operate the outlets under a LMA deal until the sale was approved by the FCC. The sale was consummated on July 17, 2015.

In 2007, the station was nominated for the top 25 markets Country music Radio & Records magazine station of the year award . Other nominees included WUSN Chicago, KYGO-FM Denver, WYCD Detroit, KEEY-FM Minneapolis, and WXTU Philadelphia.

GEORGE-FM

In January 2014, KSON celebrated George Strait for his final appearance on The Cowboy Rides Away Tour as became GEORGE-FM for the entire month of January.
