Family
His father's name is Chanan Ram.
Political career
Bhandari participated in student politics in 1980. He actively entered into politics in 2004 as a Councilor of Jalandhar Municipal Corporation. He was first elected to Punjab Legislative Assembly from Jullundur North in 2007. In 2012, he again from Jullundur North which was named to Jalandhar North.
He is the Chief Parliamentary Secretary of Punjab Government.
