Judith Appelbaum (born September 26, 1939) is an American editor, consultant and author.

Career

She is Managing Director of Sensible Solutions, Inc., a consulting firm which supports authors and publishers that she co-founded. Formerly the Editor of the "IBPA Independent," the monthly publication of the Independent Book Publishers Association, she has also been the Secretary and a member of the Board of Directors of Book Industry Study Group, Inc. and a member of its Executive Committee, Chair of its Marketing Committee and Co-Chair of its Rights Committee, as well as the winner of the Publishing Marketing Association's Lifetime Achievement Award and the winner of the BISG Lifetime Service Award. Before that she was a columnist and reviewer for The New York Times Book Review, the Managing Editor of "Publishers Weekly," an editor of "Harper's" and a member of the faculty of the University of Denver's Publishing Institute.
