Juan Ignacio Dominguez made his first steps in the junior selection of Nueva Esparta State. During his university period in Caracas he first played in the second league with La Salle FC and later for Universidad Metropolitana Caracas. With this club, he reached the ascension to the first league in 2011. This year he was top scorer in the second league with 22 goals. He was then offered a contract with famous Caracas FC. Due to private reasons, he returned to Margarita Island/Nueva Esparta. There he played for Margarita FC . In February 2015 Juan Ignacio Dominguez siged with FSV Erlangen-Bruck to play in the "Bayernliga". After recovering from an injury suffered in the preseason game between SV Seligenporten and TSV Rain/Lech, he officially signed with SV Seligenporten in February 2016.
