Curriculum

The school specialises in the teaching of Theatre Dance, including Classical Ballet, Tap, and Modern Jazz and, has teachers qualified with leading dance organisations including the Royal Academy of Dance, International Dance Teachers Association, Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and British Association of Teachers of Dance.

The school is noted for having a number of students continue their training at a professional level, later working as professional dancers and theatre performers. Former students of the school have also studied at the Royal Ballet School, Central School of Ballet, Bird College, Laine Theatre Arts, London Studio Centre, National Youth Ballet and National Youth Music Theatre.

Notable students

  • Sheridan Smith, is a popular British actress in the UK. She has appeared in a number of shows on British television and in theatre. She is most noted for playing the role of Janet in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps and in 2008, she was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role in the West End theatre production of Little Shop of Horrors. Smith is due to play the role of Samantha in a UK television revival of the American sitcom Bewitched.
  • Eliot Rudolph, is a graduate of London's Central School of Ballet and has danced with the Atlanta Ballet, English National Ballet, Bejart Ballet, Scottish Ballet, Israel Ballet, English National Opera, Bårdar Danseteater, Northern Ballet and the Royal New Zealand Ballet. Now retired from the stage, Eliot has concentrated on teaching — passing on his extensive knowledge to another generation of aspiring artists. For almost two years, Eliot worked closely with the faculty and students of The School of Dance in Ottawa and more recently spent time developing his pedagogical skills as part of a mentorship program at Canada's National Ballet School. Now based in Mumbai, Eliot travels internationally as a guest teacher, choreographer and répétiteur.
