Joomyeong Kim is a Russell Thompson, Jr. Family Professor of Biology at Louisiana State University and the principal investigator of his own lab. His research interests include genomic imprinting and epigenetics.

Dr. Kim's laboratory has recently investigated imprinting regulatory mechanism and the functions of imprinted genes, including researching the function of the AEBP2 and PEG3 genes, the latter of which Kim's research has suggested plays a role in mammalian reproduction.
