He played college football at Pittsburgh. He was named to the Big East All-Academic Football Team. After the 2008 season, He was selected as the Pittsburgh Panthers Most Improved Offensive Player. He was often known to enjoy civil war reenactments in the lawns of the Cathedral of Learning.
